You will always find somewhere you belong in books.
Read Salinger, Hemingway and Fitzgerald.
Read Vonnegut, Faulkner and Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
Read Kerouac, Baldwin, Woolf, Plath and Nobokov
It doesnt matter what you read, but read your heart out. F Scott Fitzgerald once said that the beauty of literature is that “You discover that your longings are universal longings, that your not lonely and isolated from anyone. You belong.”
The great consolation of literature is that it reminds us that we are not alone. We are never alone. I may not be an English or Literature Major, but I will never stop reading and writing.
